The forecast was for rain and 37F that afternoon and 26F the next morning, what did you expect me to do? It rained cats and dogs and then froze hard. Best two-bit engineering I've done in a long time!

Road tested over 875 miles this weekend, 80 mph in the rain and 100 mph in the dry. Looked flawed, performed flawlessly.

Limited number of kits available for 58 cents plus shipping and handling.

Ah Snag, the age of resourcefulness lives on! I was somewhat disappointed however, that you could not add matching pin stripes...

Sorry, no stripes, that would have doubled the cost and they do come in aqua, homo and chocolate.

You should try it in a hurricane... dodging trees and assorted critters flying by is as fun as riding the dragon

Given the stasi-like law enforcement practices on the Dragon these days, hurricanes are more fun! :-X

I live within 50 miles of the dragon but have not ridden it in 6 years because there are lots of less well known nice curvey roads with less BS to put up with here abouts.
I can't help that sentence. It sounds stupid to me too. ;)

Wunderich Clear Protect (also in smoke) - mount in 5 minutes with no fabrication needed (unlike GS handguards).

I have these and can recommend them. Surprisingly effective - when I got new R1200R and rode without for a few days I was surprised at the difference. Only caveat is they are not really intended for physical protection, more to keep wind, rain and BUGS at bay!

I checked the Wunderlich site for these here http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/motorc ... 00368.html they are designed for r1150gs. Also they cause the mirrors to be moved to a different position two inches higher and forward. Do they work on the new r1200r?

Does it have to be pretty to be a farkle? There has to be some kind of award for your handgards.

I recently saw an old photo of a guy who had made a set of bar end "gloves" out of old blue jeans. They accomplished the same thing as the set of "Hippo Hands" that I used years ago.

Nah, farkles don't need to be pretty, just look at any GS...
