I figured that when Corbin ran that ad in the BMOA mag Sargent would be soon to follow with a seat. There has to be a market out there. A close inspection of my stock seat reveals that one of the holes where the front seat clamp goes in is starting to elongate also a few of the rubber things are showing a lot of wear. With 18,000 the seat is just starting to wear in, I hate to get rid of it and start over.

Bob, thinking this was GREAT NEWS - I contacted Sargent to get in line. After getting about 3-4 canned responses, I finally broke through and got a human response:
Hi Don,
Here is your non-canned reply.
We do not have plans to make a complete off-the-shelf seat for the R1200R.

Color me disappointed since after a bad experience with them "upgrading" a seat I won't go that route again (there is no satisfaction guarantee with the upgraded seat..)

PIty about the Sargent - I pre-registered a year ago and have been making do with an Airhawk since. Good news is the Airhawk is good enough .... guess I'll be pricing the Corbin - and if the Aussie distributor's price is too high (remembering he's goota stay in business, too), the Airhawk will have to stay good enough!
UPDATE - the Aussie Corbin importer is
very reasonable - $658AUD which is really only about $120 AUD above the US web price ($439USD = $535AUD) and fair enough for shipping an item this size. Dunno what exchange rate they use, but it seems a better deal than their hardly seats at $848AUD. Guess there's no stocking cost on these seats.

Sorry, Sargent - lost my business (if it matters ... )
