First impressions and path forward - II

So, I put the first 1000 miles on my new to me 1150 (there was 9500 on the clock when I got it). Still like it a lot!
12K service is not due yet, but I since I have gotten no service records from the previous owner - I decided to do the basic maintenance anyway.
Changed the oil, checked the dyno belt, fixed the gaps on the spark plugs, adjusted the valves (right intakes really needed adjustment - I could noticeably move the arm even with the feeler gauges in), got rid of CCP. Now surging is barely noticeable at around 2500RPM, but I can live with it (I don't know what fixed it though - removal of the CCP or proper plug gaps). There is still clicking I can hear when the engine is at idle and at low RPM. I am sure valves are adjusted right - is this noise to be expected (I am not familiar with this engine)?

Next I need to adjust the idle RPM (now it is around 800). I understand that I need this differential manometer thingy to do it properly, or can it be done without it? Throttle bodies sync will be done when I get the gadget.

Now Carbon canister. What do people do with it? Should it follow the yellow CCP cube? If yes - what is the proper way of removing it and routing the hoses? (Or is it just "disconnect the hoses, detach the canister and throw it away"?)

I have so many questions because I don't even have a manual yet - it is still in the mail.

Thanks...

You have done well so far and by the way welcome aboard.

Proceed with the Idle and TB Sync and you will see an improvement in the operation of the bike. The carbon canister really doesn't do anything to detract from the operation/performance of the engine, however, it is ugly to look at. You decide where to go from here.....
