front fork relflectors

Post by moorlander999 »

Hello from the UK !!

can anyone tell me where i can get a pair of BMW front fork reflectors ??
They are fitted to the US versions of the R1150RT and I would like to fit some to improve the side illumination having been nearly side swiped by a local taxi driver at night ( ''sorry matey didnt see you'' - despite the fact I was wearing a reflective/fluorescent jacket / white helmet - headlights and fog lights ON ))

thanks

simon c

ps/ have e-mailed several US BMW dealerships - NO response

Howdy Simon,

Here's the part number of the side reflector

Side Marker : 63142306523

Try ordering from a U.K. dealer first then try Hammersley in W.Va or Chicago BMW. Both discount the parts and may well ship to the U.K. for you. Being as they are light and all..

All the best

There are many who take these reflectors off. You want to post a Want to Buy ad online and see the response before putting money down for new ones.

Incidentally, some trivia, the reflectors themselves are the same ones on the older-styled saddle bags on the K75, K100, R100R etc.

Cheers

If he didn't see you with that lot - fork reflectors won't make a difference.

Remember - "if they're not looking, they won't see you - no matter how many blue lights/yellow reflective patches you have".
Ride as if you're invisible. (you're NOT invisible - but the vast majority of cagers are NOT looking for you, they're looking for other things, if they're looking at all.)

Hah. I take that philosophy one step further.

Just assume that you are Austin Powers, your arch-nemisis Dr. Evil has placed a $100 million bounty on your head, and somehow everyone and their brother has gotten wind of this open-ended contract. All that money has EVERYONE out to get you and make it look like an accident.

Keep a look out for that innocent looking, but truly diabolical little old lady with blue hair. ;)

Yeah, baby.
