Mechanical Question - "Onboard Socket"?

This is embarassing! Can someone tell me how to remove the wires and connector on the back of the "Onboard Socket"? I want to disconnect that so I can use a socket to remove the retaining nut that holds the accessory outlet in place in order to install a Powerlet harness. I have gently pulled, twisted and coaxed to no avail. It just occurred to me that maybe I should know what I am doing before exerting any force, do ya think?!

Remove the seat and there should be a large skinny nut holding the socket on. When I removed mine to do just what you are doing it was pretty obvious once you got in there.

Thanks Mark. Removing the nut is what I want to do. In order to remove the nut I need to get the wire and connector loose, so I can get a socket on the nut - the nut is larger than my largest metric open-end wrench, but I have metric sockets that large. I just can't see how to release the connector. Unless someone explains that in the meantime, maybe when I get it out in the sun light, instead of using a flashlight in the garage, I can see how it works.

Most of the connectors BMW uses are latching ones - where something has to be pressed or slid to unlock the connector. In this case - it's probably opposing press-latches on the connector that must be squeezed towards each other to release (while wiggling the connector outwards.) I know I had mine off once (just to look at it) - and seem to recall that's how this one works.
