Back from MOA National

Did the Cowboy Hat Trick (Spearfish/Gillette/Paiona) put on over 6,000 miles. Hit a fence post that bounced out of a pick up and landed right in front of me (no place to go) in Casper Wy. Hit it straight on and the bike didn't go down, the front rim was destroyed and the back bent, lost one saddle bag and the latches on the other were broken. I hit the post so hard the lenses popped out of my Piaa driving lights. Good news was that BMW of Denver got the parts and had me back on the road in three days. Put on a couple of 800+ mile days on the way out and a 850 followed by a 1250 on the way home -- this on a stock seat. Not a real comfortable ride but I'm still walking and all the parts seem to still be working.
BTW: I think I saw ChiTown's (Joe Finn) bike sitting behind BMW of Denver while I was waiting around. Joe was that your bike?

Glad to hear you're OK.... wow.
Yes my bike's at Denver BMW.... supposed to be stored inside upstair. I left it fully loaded with all my camping gear. Should I be concerned?
You must have German shaped butt! impressive mile on a stocker... AirHawk or alaska pad? Or are you just that hardcore?

Looks like they roll it out in the morning and back in in the evening. Has camping gear on it, I guess it's all there. They seem like a bunch of good people, I wouldn't worry about your stuff.
No air-hawk/beads or animal skins, I just sit and ride. I do stop every 200 miles for gas/coffee and bathroom, tourism and food are back shelf items. I've been told I'm dead from the chest down by people that won't ride with me.

Harry, I'm guessing that lead to some rather rapid deflation of the tire. Congrats on keeping it upright.
BTW - perhaps you wanna join a few of us in the Irish Alps in a few weeks for Guinness tastings..
