Hey guys new guy here. I am looking at picking up an R1150R tomorrow. I am tall 6'4", and I have not been on the bike. The owner says he is 6'2" and is comfortable. I can change, seat, pegs, etc. Anyone have an opinion as to if the bike will be too cramped for a tall guy.

Thanks,

Ron

I am 6'2" with 34" inseam. I have a tall seat with a sheepskin pad and some 1/2" spacers at the front of the seat. It fits me fine, or maybe I am just used to it.

I'm 6'1" with a 34' inseam. I have a Sargent seat and use a dead sheep also. In the beginning it was a little uncomfortable but my old body has adapted to it.

As you stated there are numerous options to make it more comfortable.

I am 6'4" with 35/36" leg inseam. I have had a 2002 R1150R for about 3 months, and have been getting it ready for some long rides and tours.

1. I replaced the stock seat with the high BMW seat. I believe the high seat comes with Rocksters, but can be bought through BMW as aftermarket part.
2. Also I've installed bar backs/risers from Verholen which added like 3/4" height and 1 1/2" back on the bars.
3. I have peg lowering kits on order from Germany, which will add to my comfort, though at the moment I've been on 200-mile/day rides without significant discomfort.
4. Main issue I am trying to solve is windscreen. The bike came with a small Givi screen with a bit of fairing - it looked cool but was pretty ineffective over 50 mph. Now the bike is sporting the BMW Touring windscreen. Better... but my helmet is sitting squarely in the "wind-buffet" zone. Next step: installing a Laminar Lip, which I hope will be the final solution, along with custom earmolds.
6. And last issue: possibly modifying the seat so I don't slide forward.

Good luck!

I'm 6' 2" with a 34" inseam and I have a Rockster with the tall seat. I've never had any feeling of leg cramping. The main discomfort on the bike has to do with the fact that the reach to the bars on the Rockster is about 2" too low and too far forward. But I think the fact that you have a Roadster ought to eliminate that immediately. Should be pretty comfortable. From what I hear the tall seat is a requirement though.
