North Ga ride-a-bout

Post by jb44 »

I have a friend coming with his family to visit the Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee, GA in a few weeks. He wants to spend a day or two riding, and I told him I would scout out a ride.

I spent the day riding Hwy 60, 180, 19/129, and 17/75, and took a few photos to send him as a teaser.

Helen, GA… never seen it so deserted…must be the high fuel prices.

Brasstown Bald, highest point in GA.

On the way back to the cabin, I stopped by Smith Power Sports in Hayesville and saw this…Aprilia Tuono R…. 5k off list price…. I’d get one if I didn’t think I would get arrested on it, or worse

Thanks for the pics. Looks like the lake levels are up from last year during the drought, and tourism is down!
It's all good! Great riding!

There's still a drought despite a bit of rainfall. The lakes were brought up to summer levels by TVA, but have dropped a foot and a half in the past week.

There was a lot of empty shop space in Helen. A couple of weeks ago at the Honda Hoot, I would estimate about a 30% decline in the number of vendors.
