I have the Throttle Meister on my '04 Rock and just ordered the GS hand guards. The mounting bolt and conical washer that attaches the hand guard to the end of the handlebar prevents the Throttle Meister from rotating. Thus working! Has anyone solved this?

Sorta kinda. I've got the Wunderlich guards. Left side was no big thing, just a longer screw. I used SS w/hex drive.
Right side was a PITA, you need the longer screw natcherly AND........
I ended up making a bushing that slid over the screw, with a curved or tapered end. The TM can't use a wide bushing as the bushing will bind the TM. So you need to form a taper of the approximate diameter. Take a peek into the TM & you can guesstimate the diameter of the tip. The outside end then needs a washer so when you tighten everything down The screw will push the tapered end of the bushing against the end of the handlebar.
I made mine from brass tubing 3-4 telescoped pieces from the local hobby shop. epoxied them together & attacked the end with a belt sander. When it was done it looked a bit like an elongated .38 cal bullet with a slightly sharper nose.

Thanks so much for the input/idea! I made a brass spacer from the cut down neck of a 270 Winchester rifle cartridge. I put a longer bolt in and a fender washer on the head of the bolt to push against the hand guard. Works like a charm! Thanks again! Rocksters ROCK!

I had the same problem when I mounted my GS hand guards. What I did was contact Throttle Meister directly and for about 20 bucks (I think) they sent me the GS with hand guard adapters. Very nice SS parts, well worth the money. Once installed, they space out the guard perfectly, allowing my to tighten down the end securing the guard nicely.

When I got in touch with the Meister co. they said they didn't have an adapter available. Could be it's a new addition?
