Handle grips replacement

Hi there,
I just acquired a 2002 R1150R Roadster from a fellow rider. Both the handle grips(non heated) need to be replaced.
I have checked the online part fiche and here are my findings:-
61317694808 right grip US$32
61317694807 left grip US$17
Here are my questions:-
1. Are these the correct part numbers?
2. Is the right grip (part number 61317694808) comes with the throttle tube?
3. Can I just replace the rubber grips without replacing the throttle tube?
4. If question 3 is “Yesâ€Â, what are the correct part numbers?
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
Phang

I can't answer your questions about the part numbers, but some insight about removing the grips and keep the heater elements intact may be found here:

Phang,
Check out this website for part numbers :
http://www.ascycles.com/Illustrated_cat ... meset.html
According to it, the part numbers you need for the left and right heated grips are :
61 31 2 306 231
61 31 2 306 232
EDIT : just noticed you are asking for
non heated grips so disregard the above part #'s. Check the site out to find the non heated grips

Thanks DSKYZD,
I will opt for the “cut and throw away†method for grip removal as I do not have an air compressor at home. I read about spraying hair spray to the inner tube of the grips when putting them back, hair spay will lubricate when wet and stick when dry. Interesting

Thanks taosports
Now, I have cross checked among the following 3 companies:-
Chicagobmwmotorcycle
Maxbmwmotorcycles
A&Sbmwmotorcycles
For right hand non-heated grip
Maxbmwmotorcycles listed 61317694808
A&Sbmwmotorcycles listed 32 72 2 332 626
Chicagobmwmotorcycle listed 61317694808 with Product name “Handle tube S†and 32 72 2 332 626 with product name “61317694808 Sâ€Â, same price for both part numbers.
For left hand non-heated grip
Maxbmwmotorcycles listed 61317694807
A&Sbmwmotorcycles listed 32 72 2 332 625
Chicagobmwmotorcycle listed 61317694807 with Product name “Handle tube S†and 32 72 2 332 625 with product name “61317694807 Sâ€Â, same price for both part numbers.
I believe the part numbers indicated in maxbmw and A&Sbmw for the left and right non-heated grips are actually referring to the same thing.

Not sure if you've done this, but might want to make sure the wires under the steering neck aren't bound/chaffed and causing an open condition.
Just my $.02
If you do a search, you can find a lot of info concerning this.

While the harispray might work, if it dries quickly (that's what it's supposed to do), you may lose the slip part of the action rather quickly. I have used the grip-slip goop that I bought at a local motorcycle store. It was specifically designed for grip changes, and it's cheap. It will remain slippery for enough time to make sure you get the grips on correctly - then leave them alone for a while for the grip action to take effect. It worked quite well for me. You should use this stuff rather than hairspray.

hello friends.
tell me please how to know if my bike has heated or non-heated grips?
I have to replace them, but do not know which one I should order.
BTW, tell me please how to order only the rubber on the grips?
thanks
