Airhawk 2 Seating System !

Hi Guys - Anyone had any experience with this - just seen an ad in one of the bike mags advertising this for R:872.00 / $:110.00 sounds good but I would like some feedback from anybody who has one

I just got one. I put it on the bike, and sat on it for a few minutes while I adjusted the air pressure. It felt pretty comfortable, but I have zero miles on it so far. It did cost a little over $200 with the cover, though, shipping included.

I've had one for a couple years now. You want to put minimal air pressure in it... just enough so you don't bottom out. That way you get maximum conformance to the butt and pressure distribution. It will cure a lot of seat issues. The thing it can't help is sliding forward. If you're seat isn't flat, even with an Airhawk, you will slide forward. The Airhawk actually makes that easier because you're riding on a cushion of air... no real resistance to moving fore and aft and side to side.

I have an Airhawk on my 1200R and am currently in the middle of a 3k mile 1 week trip......I have been averaging 500 miles a day and it has been very comfortable, no seat complaints at all.

Just as a general comment - there is another one to consider. Called "FreedomAir" - the freedom is freedom of having "your boys" crushed by the front of the air cushion. I found that an AirHawk did relieve my arthritic butt pain quite well, but it caused an equal amount of pain in other parts of my body. The FreedomAir has a cutout so it doesn't cause that problem. It also has a split design - with each side having it's own valve. The advantage to that is it keeps air from transferring from one side to the other when you're using your butt to help initiate turning. It works well and is in the same price range as the AirHawk.
