Crush Washers

Any fellow Beaksters, who buy the transmission and final drive crushwashers in bulk. I would like to buy enough for my fluid change of both, but shipping is retarded. I will send you a check, and you can just mail them in an envelope. Post me your address and how much.

Have you checked locally?

Most auto parts stores carry these. At worst you'd have to buy a blister pack of two each maybe.

AutoZone, Advance, PepBoyz all carry them...M18 for tranny, M14 for the FD.
Sometimes all you can get are the copper ones....I just spray paint 'em.......

Chicago BMW used to include all the crush washers with their oil filters. It was a service kit of some sort.

That is awesome news. I have been on the forum for quite a while, and never realized this. For my benefit, and that of some other members, who may not know, could you describe in a little more detail what it is I am asking for. Are those numbers what designate the washer? Also, is there a designation for the motor oil washer, also? Any info is appreciated!!!!!!!!

The M18 and M14 are metric designations and the number refers to the ID (internal diameter) in mm of the hole in the washer.

If my memory serves me correct the oil drain plug takes an A16, A-14 on the Final Drive, and A-18 on the trans. May want to check against your service manual.

Just my opinion but I wouldn't get too upset if you have to use the "old" washer, I have three honda cars the oldest with 278K (I purchased new) change oil every 4k, and am still using the same washer, my "R" has 30+K and is still on the same washer. I do not do anything to them, just reuse them, I have several on the shelf, maybe when i change the oil this spring I will use a new one, Good Luck Den

Good advice. And, do not overtighten the old crush washer to compensate for the fact it is being reused. Original torque specs are fine.

All crushwashers on my '01 are original. I even use the brake banjo copper washers over again. I have no leaks.....ANYWHERE!
