With 4400 miles on it, I noticed a small amount of oil dripping out of my R1200R yesterday AM.
If the bike is started on the side stand, oil drips out from the underside of the starter. The smoke from it hitting the exhaust pipe was the tip off.
I rode over to A & S, and Randy had a theory, but it needs to go in for the repair. Some sort of seal is failing.
Parked on the center stand, or riding, it does not seem to be leaking.
This is very disappointing.

Re: OIL LEAK!
Wow, first I've heard of that! I'm sure it's a warrenty issue, but yes, troubling just the same. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Re: OIL LEAK!- NOT!, Brake Fluid
What I beleived to be oil that appeared to be leaking from under the starter turned out to be brake fluid.
The source was one of the fittings on a brake line where it attached to the abs controller, which is located under the gas tank. The fitting was not loose.
For that reason, A & S has ordered new lines and a new ABS controller, so I should have the bike back in about 1-2 weeks.
It is under warranty, thankfully.

Re: OIL LEAK!
That is not great news, but it is far better than an oil leak.
Had the brakes been working properly?
