Show Us Your Ride - Riders Photo Gallery

Hello, I'm new to the forum, but have been lurking for some time. I've found lots of useful information, but the images are sparse. I am surprised (and disappointed) that there isn't a thread dedicated to photographs of our bikes here on the forum. Sadly, googling "R1200R" doesn't result in very many images of the bike either, so I thought I'd come to the most likely source and make the request to starting the ultimate R1200R online gallery.

As many lurkers, I don't currently own the R12R, but soon will. Instead, here is a picture of my 06 K12R with full titanium Remus "shorty" Racing Exhaust System.

Let's see your R1200R!
Please show us your ride either by adding your photos inside your reply or by giving us the link to your online gallery.

ChiTown,

Well, that pretty much covers it! That's just about every road in America. Those are some serious miles. I'm in awe! What a way to kick off this thread. Thank you!

To answer your question, I wish I could say I will be parking the R12R next to the K12R, but unfortunately the K12R was auctioned off for bits after being t-boned and totaled in May ('07). After test riding a few other BMWs and being wooed by the likes of Ducati, KTM, and MV Agusta, I have decided the K12R's successor will be the R12R. Just waiting for "pay day". ;)

I love the styling of the classic R90S and so I plan to modify the R12R as Wunderlich did to create it's "Trophy", but with some changes. It might look something like this:

Ditto to the R90S love. I really need two R1200R's. One with crash bars and a Wudo, or Wunderlich fairing. With white pinstripes it could be a nice look that harkens back to the R90S (at least in my mind).

Then I need a stock bike with no tail rack. I think the R1200R is awfully pretty naked...

Here are few photo's of mine.

Kinda wish these photos' didn't have the tankbag on it...
Not sure I'm going to keep the tank bag.

sweet ride! great pics, too. and those s-curves look so inviting! i don't care much for tank bags either because they ultimately scratch the tank.

2 r12r's? why stop at 2?

once ducati came out with the paul smart retro-styled bikes, i had hoped bmw would do the same and the r90s seemed like the logical choice. i had imagined bmw (or at least wunderlich) would have started with the r12s for that more flat & clip-on look, but after seeing the roadster redone, it just seemed to make more sense. the faded two-tone of the original is nice, but i don't care too much for it on the 1200.

Taken today.. a pre-spring ride (nice temps, almost 40F, but very high winds - 35-50mph gusts..) to celebrate the first day of Daylight Saving Time.

Image

Stopped at the Allenwood General Store to pick up lunch. Right across from the Allenwood Bicentenial Park - with the Bicentenial Rock which has a bronze plaque on it thay says "In 1776 nothing happened here. Nothing has happened since then. We like it that way."

Stopped off at my friend Mike's shop to eat my lunch.

Image
Headed over to Allaire Airport (AKA Monmouth Airport, aka a lot of other names..) to see if anyone was flying..

Image
For some reason they weren't.

Image
Headed north along the ocean to see what was happening in Asbury Park. As in Allenwood - nothing was happening. Which was OK.

Image
Finally wandered back south to Brielle, where nothing was also happening, or not.

And from there - a back route home. Did do about 10 miles of slab.. nothing noteworthy to it. Only about 60 miles, but 3+ hours in early March in NJ is a gift. The bike works amazing well in the high winds.

Funny how a getting a head start on riding season can feel nice despite windchill of below 40. Looked like a ghost town, albeit, a pretty one.

Sweet - an action shot! Is that a holiday ribbon on the plate?

Yes, it is a holiday ribbon. My GF decorated her bike and mine last year. It was fine with me -- the more she smiles while we are out riding the more we will be out riding together.
