This month's video podcast (released a few days early) is about choosing the right windshield for your bike. I talk about the basic ideas behind windshield dimensions, the proper shape and angle, how these attributes direct airflow and how they affect your comfort. I also talk about something I've learned here in the forum: Choosing the right shield is a trial and error process. I then install a Cee Bailey's 18" windshield on my BMW R1200R. Video is here on blip.tv: http://peckhammer.blip.tv/#697509
I am currently trying out blip.tv, which is a video sharing service offering superior video playback quality. This better quality may come at the cost of slower buffering. I discovered that it's better to let the whole video buffer before trying play it if you aren't on a really fast connection. If you find it too slow, you can view the video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQDklXVzHmY

Nice work!
Your timing is very appropriate around here.
So this is a monthly podcast thing your doing? Sorry if I missed that....
What's next month? Never mind I guess that could ruin the surprise...
What kind of video editing software are you using?
Thanks for taking the time to do the video, it sure is appreciated in these tough times while we're buried in snow. Another 6-9 inches tonight...

Re: Got Windshield? Another Video...
Thanks for the feedback. Next month? I am open to suggestions. The last two vids I did were directly a result of conversations taking place here in the forum. I've been blogging and writing about motorcycling since '97, but I've recently started doing video podcasts. These vids take about 8 hours of my time for every minute of finished product, so I'm thinking that this will be a "monthly" thing.ChiTown wrote:Nice work!Your timing is very appropriate around here.

I am using Adobe Premier for the video editing. I compose and record the music tracks in GarageBand. Voice-overs are done with a "Snowball" mic or an SM-58. The SM-58 is also my field recording mic.
Snow? I used to be plagued by that when I lived in Buffalo.

The blip address in the original post is for your seat video.
The correct one is:
http://blip.tv/file/691446/
And you're right: it paused twice even with Comcast cable. But much better quality.

I just re-encoded the vids to a lower res and they are now about 1/3 their former size. This should help with the playback issues -- and they still look better than the YouTube vids.
