F 800R

British Bike Magazine MCN have again printed a picture of the "New F 800R. Based on the 800cc Twin it will be a light weight naked. Here is a previous picture of the bike.

I started to say "good photo shop job", but it's not.

Interesting concept. If it were priced low enough I think it would sell here.

It is a photoshopped pic. It is not a good photoshop job.

I could see it being a possibility, and maybe it's in the works but I'll wait until I see more official BMW photos before I seriously look at them.

I like the idea of a belt drive for the street, but I've already got the naked bike genre covered. My next bike (in addition to the roadster) will fill a different 'niche'.

It does make sense though. And it follows the pattern of using a platform for many variations.

I agree I have that naked bike niche covered with my Roadster (and it overlaps a bunch of "niches". But the F800GS sure would round out my "fleet". OK, it would be bike #2, a small fleet.

To be honest I gave it a quick glance and read the comments and just assumed it was for real.

The marks at the bottom of the picture are I assume where some advertising has been removed. The Motor Cycle News (MCN) has a real picture but it is not on their web site yet as magazine only came out yesterday.
BMW denied the existance of the bike last year when pictures were published stating it was an experiment carried out by a dealer who had "cannabilised 2 crashed bikes"
Here is a link from August 2007 but as I said they have updated the story yesterday and it looks like a genuine bike in the new photo. I will try and scan the item from the magazine and post it but i would guess it will appear on The MCN site next week.
