It's Like Christmas Every Day

Post by AllanCook »

I just went outside to grab the paper and took a nice, long look at my R1200R. Man, that bike is like Christmas every day.

Happy holidays, y'all.

I agree 100%! Plus, the heated gloves I got for Christmas will add more days of Winter riding up here in the frozen North. Best present I ever got.

I just got back from a great 166-mile ride.. I didn't want to get off the bike, but I have a Christmas dinner at some friends in a couple hours, and I needed to get back to the house to get "presentable".

Great ride.. absolutely NO ONE on the roads today.. My Gerbing jacket liner and the heated grips made it a very comfortable ride. I even stumbled on a road that I didn't know existed.. Could it be irony..?

Hope Santa was good to y'all.. Please remember our service men and women serving overseas during the holidays.

Merry Christmas Allan. Unfortunately we have two feet of snow here and to top things off, the R12R is sitting in the garage at the other house 800kms away so I can't even go out and look at it.

I know how ya'll feel. I still sneak in a ride. Got a heated vest and some nice gloves. It makes a world of difference. Still, most of time is spent drinking whiskey, shootin' guns and making videos when it' cold outside.

Peck, Kudos! That is one of the funniest video clips I've seen in a long time..

Ok.. I gotta ask a couple questions..

1 - "Chili" w/o tomatos?..
2 - How the hell did you end up in Seattle?..

My sister lives in Cedar Crest - on the east side of the mountain from Albuquerque. She's going to love your video..

1.) Yep. Without tomatoes. And it is truly delicious. I developed this recipe because my father cannot eat tomatoes.

It's very simple to make. and I encourage you to try it. Just be sure they are NM chiles. New Mexico Chiles are very consistent in their heat, and they are flavorful. Despite my comedy in the video, the dish was very pleasant, not that spicy. In fact, GirlWonder (my camera-person/significant other) ate half the dish and never broke a sweat.

2.) By way of Boston. I am from NYC originally, then lived in Buffalo way too long, moved to Boston, and then to Seattle.

I was introduced to the west coast because of my motorcycle writings, and then started visiting place in California pursuant to invites from fans of my blog. I moved to Seattle in '99, and I bought some property in Taos a few years ago. I spend a fair amount of time there -- great place, so long as you don't need to work. I really love the local culture, and have quite a few friends between Albuquerque and Chama.
