Hi Rockster world, I have been following this DB for some time and have now signed up. I have an Orange/Black '03 now with 55,000km which I commute daily into Sydney CBD on, and the odd weekend scratch. I have had more than my share of ABS problems, (keep the ABS removal posts coming) but still love this, my 2nd Boxer. I also have my own cleaning techniques which keeps her looking like new. I also run the Z6's, the rear to 10,000km, a Staintune pipe, Panniers, Shell V-Power, don't run a screen, get 16 to 18 km per Ltr and would love a small model of the machine. As rare as the Rockster is in Oz I still see the odd one around so I know they're out there. I think a get together occasionally or just once would be good. For NSW, Sydney/Central Coast guys I think if we converged on Mt White one day it would be great. If anyone came from interstate or some milage I think we locals may be able to assist with accommodation. Otherwise lets work out the centre of our little world, as long as I don't have to travel the Hume I am in. Any thoughts?

Athough not in your backyard I certainly encourage you to pursue getting together with others of your brand, it will be a new and wonderful experience.

Stateside, late in 2003 a fellow on this board, Yukon Cornelius sugested the idea of getting together to put faces and rides together with the board names. Saddly enough, 3 weeks after the post and with the efforts on their way he met a most untimely death. Several of us decided to carry on the task as he would have wished. So Beakster Bash I was born, held on May 04 around the Geals Gap area in the Smoky Mountains between Tennessee and North Carolina. There has been at least one every year since at different locations and sometimes two gatherings in one year. They are very informal, the objective is to get together for a couple of days, to ride and meet the owners. It's not model or brand specific, but 90% of the attendees are people on this board and their spouses or friends, riders themselves.

So that being said......how about you leading the first across the pond Beakster Bash......I'll be more than happy to help with the details.......good luck. 8) 8)

No! it's my PC game 'Unreal Tournament' tag name. I got fed up with all the macho names on the web so decided to go the opposite way. I get a whole range of reactions!

I'm looking forward to riding in Aus' so hope to see you.

Yes we will talk when you are closer, don't forget to look into the ADR's, Australian Design Rules for registration. It may be best to apply for a Yellow plate, Personal Import Compliance plate for old Rocky.
I just hope you can ride upside down, you will get used to it.

Boxermania, thanks for the support. I guess time can only tell. For all those availiable the BMW Touring Club of NSW is holding their annual, Karuah River Rally in Feb08 (near Dungog), I hope to be there wearing my new Rockster T-Shirt................yeehah.
