Hi All,

New member here.....great forum, been lurking for a while.
Will be buying a new R1200R in acouple of months, just waiting for 08's.

Tought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone by Introducing myself and starting a picture tread  .

I also work for a BMW dealer and have pretty good knowlage about BMW's and bikes in general so If I can ever help with anything, would be my pleasure :D .

Thanks folks.......V

Welcome ! You obviously did a test ride on an RR. We have all noticed that this activity is hazardous to your bank account :D

The current thinking is that BMW has some kind of nano-technology that is injected from the seat which makes you immediately sign the paperwork to buy one.

Here is my review/blog with photos you might be interested in.

Hey Thanks Doug,

Yea,test rode one in June this year and it just blew me awey.
Since,I sold all my bikes ( 05gsxr1000, Vstrom 1000 and SV 650 track bike) and I'll be getting an 08 R12R the spring. No point in getting one now since riding time is over till April here.
This is the best all arouder, period,in my opinion.
This gives me lots of time to accumulate about 3k worth of accesories  .

Why do you call yourself Airshaft?
The reason I ask is that I work at a mine.

Air cooled, shaft driven.....funny it was 1st thing that came to mind as I was registering....didnt even think in terms of mining.

How's things in beautifull TN, I sure miss the Gap. I've spent lots of time down there in past 10 yrs and have friens in Athens and Vonore area.

This June I moved to Alberta from Ontario so getting down there wont be as easy for a while or at least till this time next year as I plan on putting some miles on the r12r. I cant wait to unleasah th R on few unexpecting sport bikes at the Gap. This one is a real sleeper.

Things are fine here. I have been spending as many weekwnds as I can motorcycle camping knowing that winter is just around the corner. That's what we thought anyway. It is 65 here now with the sun down and it mid October. Two weekends ago I camped in NC and it was too warm for me to sleep well when I first hit the sack. There is a place nearby in Hot Springs NC where I can take the R1200R peg scraping or do the sort of riding CHITOWN does or both in a day. Lovely place and a good selection of microbrewery beers at the camp store.
