Diagnostic connection?

Post by NeilS »

Anyone know if the interface with the BMW Diagnostic Connector is compatible with OBD-II? I know the connectors are physically different, but how about the electrical interface and protocol?

Neil,

The diagnostics is proprietary.. but there is a tool that can be used with it. Goggle GS-911..

And if you're a BMW-MOA member - there is an article by my favorite author in the most recent issue of the Owners News on using it..

Don,
I read that article, it was very informative, how does that guy get the time to research all that stuff. I hope he's not doing it at work. The GS-911 looks like a great tool. I figure if I ever get in trouble I can borrow yours or even drag the bike to you   .
