Wunderlich finally came out with the new catalog for the R1200R. Bad news is that it's in German. Good news is that farkles translate nicely into many different languages!! BMW of Santa Cruz is happy to help with the translation. YEAH, more ways to spend $$$$ on the new love of my life!! So, let's stop talking about boring ring antennae and focus on what's important, ACCESSORIES!!!

Noticed that there are a few new windshields in that catalogue including a vario windshield....can anyone tell if this is one by MRA?

I notice that the "clear protect" guards are available ... ah, warmer, drier feet - and fewer stone whacks in the shins (y'all wanna try Aussie backroads?).

I've been salivating over these in the GS catalogue - and even thought of buying the GS ones and trimming them. We're heading into spring now, but I will definitely be getting a set before next winter. Or maybe before summer, just in case it rains ...

... but, while I know GS handguards make for warmer & safer riding, somehow I can't bring myself to put them on. Maybe Wunderlich could commission them in clear stuff, too (has to be pliable as well, I guess) ...

Oh-Oh All you guys in the US - watch out. The value of the US dollar is about to take a big hit. Don has a German farkel catalog and he's converting all his disposable income into Euros.

Is that shield adjustable up and down as well as angle? I can't read german but it appears to be so! Looks like one of the best shields yet and if it's adjustable in those ways I have to think it's got to be pretty good!

Eek, it gets worse. BMW of Santa Cruz (:smt077) sent me an email telling me that they are working on the English translation of the catalog. They are SO MEAN to me.

BMW of Santa Cruz says they have the vario windshield in stock, but the bracket will arrive late September.

I saw that on their site too..It seems it's 199 for the screen and 149 for the mounting bracket...If you convert the Euro price to US$ you get $287 total about $60 difference which is probably moot when you add shipping from Germany if they even do so? If it's a good shield it'd be worth it.

I wonder if we got about 10-15 people together who wanted this if Santacruz would offer us a discount? Might be a pain getting everyone together on this though could be worth it for both us and Santracruz BMW.

hit the submit button a bit too early. So is this screen a Vario unit or a wunderlich unit or both? If it's vario, Twisted Throttle will prbably have it and at a fairly decent price. It's similar to this one

I will have me one of those "S" looking fairings. The Daytona Orange paint job aint bad either.

Too many ways to add on to this bike. But I could really use the retro barend mirrors. Safety item there, you know.

I need the English edition yesterday! Must buy farkles... I like the Rizoma clutch and brake levers and mirrors. Too cool. Are those safety issues?

I've heard that the clutch and brake levers are not just pretty buy very functional too and easy to install. They work so well that you might want to buy them even if they were ugly, which they are not.

It's all good stuff - I too very much like the R90S type fairing in either black or the custom orange, very smart. Wunderlich are usually pretty prompt at translating their brochures.

I still can't decide whether the R12R looks better as retro or futuristic (with the Wudo fairing) though ... Either fairing is a big improvement in looks IMO.
