Scotland 5 day tour

This years trip was taken over 5 days. In all we covered 1380 miles.
Day 1 Home - Alston - Gretna Green - Glasgow - Loch Lomond - Connel

Day 2 Connel(nr Oban) - Fort William - Invergarry - Kyle of Lochalsh - Gairloch - Ullapool

Day 3 Ullapool - Ledmore - Durness - Thurso - John o' Groats - Dornoch

Day 4 Dornoch - Muir of Ord - Loch Ness - Spean Bridge - Aviemore - Balmoral - Braemar - Pitlochry

Day 5 Pitlochry - Crieff - Edinburgh - Jedburgh - Corbrige - Home

Day 1 We all met up for a final check/fill up and route decider.

This year we decided to go over the Pennines via Alston for our first stop.

Our first night stop was at The Oyster Inn at Connel Bridge near Oban

The hot smoked salmon chowder was especially good

Day 2 this took in Fort William, Kyle of Lochalsh, Plockton, Badachro, Gairloch.

Day 3 Today we are going as far north as you can reach.
To Durness on the north west and John o' Groats on the north east.

Day 4 Getting loaded up at our stop over in Dornoch

Just deciding which way to go today as the weather still looks like it will hold good for us.

We are just past Loch Ness and Fort Augustus and had to stop for a swing bridge.

These two guys we stopped to talk to were from Serbia and had already been travelling for 25 days

Beautiful Tony. I loved the photos of the castle too. I can't imagine being able to ride along the countryside and come upon such sights like that!!

But these two photos were favorites as well. I can see people on the beach! Sounds like a fun trip and it was obviously a beautiful one.

looks like a real fun ride. What are the winds like along the coast? What are the temperatures?

Nicely done, the castle is magic! Looks like the ride was full of twisties.
Seems you had great weather and time for a few pints at the end of the day.

What are the winds like along the coast? What are the temperatures?
Not windy at all though along the north coast it was around 14 degrees C so I had to use the heated grips
How was the whiskey?
Didn't drink any but passed a few distilleries along the way. We mainly stuck to the beer!!! We are found of our pints us Brits.

Amazing trip...and the pics are outstanding!
