BMW R1200R R1150R/T F800 K1200R R1100R/T R1250R RnineT Message Board

This isn't a Great Ride in the sense of an epic trip and the pictures aren't scenic or high quality like a thread of Gypsy, DJ or Taosports. But I felt the urge to post some pictures from an eclectic collection of bikes that gathered on Sunday AM for breakfast at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It has long been a magnet for riders touring the area and I conservatively estimate that I have ridden up there in the excess of 500 times in the last 25 years for breakfast! I can take 3 different twisting routes (ask some of the board guys about one I took them on!) or stay on the BRP and the scenery is usually great, and if not, then the weather is . . . interesting! I am lucky to live here.

This Sunday a group called the M.O.B. (The meaning seems to depend on who you ask! ) was staying at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle campground nearby and some members are also part of the Sunday morning crew from here, so we had at least 18 riders there.

I got to meet some fine people (the M.O.B. folks are a lot like our own Bash attendees) and do some good riding too. And the great thing is, I can do it again next week and the one after that . . . etc.!

Vann, since you lead me (and others) to the Pisgah Inn, it's my favorite spot for breakfast too.

I can vouch for that! i was going to say "I've had breakfast there!" (during the recent RA rally!). Nice mix of bikes - lots-o-variety!

I am ashamed to say, I don't know the particulars. But I know the owner, I'll ask him next time I see him!

'68 or '69 R60/2, hard to remember because I wasn't even born then.

Note the telescoping forks instead of the Earles fork design.

Awsome pics, Vann. Pisgah Inn is someplace I'd probably just cruise on by when on the Parkway if you hadn't taken me there a couple of times now. Nice fun roads leading up to it as well.

I think you could get an R69US or something like that with the non-earles forks in the late 60s.
