I have seen quite a few posts regarding the handlebars on the rockster, but would really appreciate feedback from folks who have put on the riser/barbacks. I am not sold on the ergonomics of my '04 yet, but see that many have eventually gotten used to it. I'm 5'10" and a fairly mellow rider and the riding position still seems to be more "crotch rockety" than I am used to. Thanks

I am using this vario riser/barbacks from Wunderlich and I am happy with it. There are some other products in the markt but I have no experience with it.

Thanks for the info. They are pretty proud of those things aren't they?(compared to the Moto-Tech's anyway) As I read more I threads on this and other forums, the more I think that I need to just suck it up for a while and put some more miles on the bike to see if I get adjusted to the more forward body position. Lowering the foot pegs may help as well, but I guess that's a whole different thread...Thanks Again

Hi. Not sure where you are but try Nippy Normans for some bar backs. They come in various sizes, so you should be able to find some that suit.. RR

I've got the Moto-tech 1-1/4"s and while I struggled with the idea for a few weeks, now I love the riding position and I dont think it did anything to water down the looks or handling of the Rockster. The Moto-Techs are well worth $40 and they are very easy to take off (and sell) if you dont care for them.

Here are the SW-MOTECH handlebar riser barbacks and top caps (black), purchased from twistedthrottle.com. I think I laid out $112 with S&H. I'm 6'2" and every little bit closer to upright helps ... and these did.

+ 1 for the SW Motech items above. Neat and easy to fit, the made all the difference to my Rockster. PS - I'm 5' 10" also.

I'm looking at something myself.. but maybe new bars.. i think wunderlich call them comfort bars.
I've only had the bike a couple of weeks.. so i reckon i 'll do 3mths to see if i get used to them... if not i'll do a order.

For me.. i'm 5'4.. so it's more of a stretch for me currently.. but it's better than my last bike.

I just installed Rox Risers on my edition 80. Very nice product and fit and finish is great. Took the bike for a ride and the riding position is much better. They are 2-inch risers and have adjustability forward and back. Just thought i'd add my two cents!

Same here, for my Roadster.

I've just bought a set of GS handguards for my Edition 80. To mount them with the Parabellum windscreen I currently have on I'll have to put on barbacks or move the screen foreward. I checked out the Rox Risers web site and they look great...did you use the adjustable type? I'm also wondering if the ATV type with the antivibration mounts would work.
Any issues with cables binding on the 2" height?

Yes they are the adjustable ones! The cables are long enough with some tie strap relocating etc. They adjust to any position that you like and fit very well. It has been one of the best additions to my edition 80. BTW I am 6'1" and my sholders thank me for the risers everytime I ride.

It's done! I put Rox Risers on my edition 80 last week and it's like night and day! The 2" up and back change the whole feel...much more comfortable. The salesman at Rox risers was very helpful and interested in the details of my bike and why I wanted to do this. The only issue I had with the product was the machine screws did not pass through to cover all the threads on the lower half...I bought 8 more that were maybe 1/4 inch longer...probably not needed, but minimal cost and just my being AR.
I also put on the GS handguards and the only hangup was needing just a tad bit of grinding out on the right side to let the brake cable pass. With the heated handgrips and heavy gloves I was comfortable riding down to about 50 degrees..I bet I'll be able to do 40 degree weather with those handguards installed.

Nice.Try snowmobile gloves, and you can ride in any weather/temps.
