I recently had a problem with the fuel line quick-disconnects. (Thanks, Don)
When I called the dealer and explained the problem, the service manager said that my bike was no longer under warranty. He said that according to the computers, I purchased my bike from Westchester BMW in NY on Sept 30, 2003. This was just one week after they bought it from the factory. I purchased my bike June 10, 2004, almost 10 months later. Anyone else had this happen? I'll be sure to check on it next time I buy any vehicle.

Warranty is from the delivery date on your bill of sale.

If you have that, then what's in the computer is incorrect, and you are due warranty work.

There was also a recall on the fuel line quick disconnects.

Well, it doesn't really matter now, as i have replaced the original QD's with the same cheap plastic QD's given to me by another board member. I was just wondering about the warranty date issue. And Jeff, the recall was for an inspection of the QD's, per the service guy at my local BMW shop. And only some of the R's were affected. Mine wasn't. :?:
I'm over it.
Thanks for the help, fellas.

Ran close to the same problem. I got one of the last 2003's during the spring of 04. it was sold from a deal up by green bay to chicago bmw.

I took delivery last week of april, but my warranty started in march when the transfer took place. Almost missed warranty on a rear seal leak.
