After 7.5 months and 8500 miles on my R, I just saw another R on the road for the first time!

Headed West on 66 at about 7:30, outside of the city, past Haymarket. I got off at Marshall, he kept on heading West. Silver R with saddle bags and the touring Windshield. Nice looking bike, and I was glad to finally see another R!

Hope you were headed for a day or two camping in the mountains and not to work like I was!

I frequently see them (us) around. If you're in the area often, you should check out the local club - http://www.bmwbmw.org. They have a specific thread for spotting others.

10,000 miles, 16 months = none spotted.

But, if I go to the European Bike Rally this weekend in New Ulm, TX, I bet I see some there!

Yeah you don't see to many. I had new tires put on a little while ago and I put the wheels on myself. I was cruising through some back little neighborhood streets to make sure the wheels weren't going to fall off and saw a red one sitting in a driveway at the end of a cult-a-sac. No one outside, and I kept riding back around like 4 times, still no one. I haven't rode back past there since.
I also saw a black one and the black and yellow (Yellow Jacket) riding together on I-64 one day only to find out that it was 2 of Mortons BMW employees riding there bikes-man and a woman. She has the yellow jacket and I remember them because of their plates. H8CARS and H8Z32.

I've seen a couple around here in the past year, but given how loaded up they were I assumed they were in transit.

I live in NW Louisiana and the funny thing is I have seen 3 or 4 of the R1150R's in my area. That is a little surprising to me cause I do not consider our area to be a fertile area for the BMW market.

I have started riding with a group recently and one of the other bikes in the group is a 2004 model. Again, its kinda surprising to me...

I find the lack of sightings quite surprising. I saw a lime rock today on the way to work today! I have seen quite a few running around here in North Texas. Even the occasional 850R and 1100R. Probably 8 in the last 16 months. Guess this is fertile ground for RR's

I remember my first sighting, soon after purchase. I was circling around the west side of Minneapolis (494?) There was a Piedmont Red R coming towards on the opposite side of the concrete barrier. I couln't believe it (even with the beak) from a distance. As we neared each other. I got a huge :smt023 . I swear I could see a smile so bright that the full face helmet couldn't hide it. Maybe I was his first sighting. I was giggling for a couple miles.

But my small town is crawling with BMW's of all models.

Hmmm. I've only seen a couple in three years. Of course there's only one BMW dealer in the whole freakin' state, and that's 90 miles away.

One owner used to live in the Montgomery, Al area and posted here as "Slipstream". None others in the immediate vicinity. But one of the Docs at my chiropractic clinic has an R1100S, is that close enough?

Hello up there,

I'm down near the Gulf of Mexico here on the Alabama Coast, the Redneck Riviera. Maybe we'll run into each other at the Great Chicken Rally.

You see them all the time in the DC metro area. I think there are 3 in my immediate neighborhood alone.

I hear that this weekend will be great for spotting Beaksters near Virginia. It's in a place called Marlinton.

I saw the first BMW R1150R this weekend in Fayetteville, TX. A burnt orange Rockster. It was parked near where I was, but I was too shy to say anything, so I left!
