Stay safe everyone. :(

I do have a PayPal account for those who want to us that method. Donations can be made to touchton at modomail dot com.

Also, its been suggested instead of donating to the scholarship fund, the money could be provided directly to Nancy. Given the situation, its understandable there would be a financial need there. I'm fine with that as well. I'm planning to attend the visitation this evening. I'll find out what Nancy would rather do. Either tonight, or it may be better to wait a few days to see.

Condolences to all of his family and friends.

Apparently he was also a member of the Eastern Tenn Riders forum as well. He had posted DJ's MotoGP link a few weeks ago.

A link to their forum and the sad news.

WOW,

My thoughts to his family and loved ones. May God provide for his loved ones.

On my part, I'll be happy to provide to a family fund. Anybody knows?

oh man, man, man...

My deepest regrets to his family and friends....

While reading through the last 6 pages of posts, a pit was forming in my stomach...Scott's death, what was it from??? my gut knew...

With all that's happening in the country right now, I'm getting really bummed. Poor Scott, may God bless his soul.

Wow. I've been reading posts for a bit now, having just started riding in april. I'm sorry that my first 'post' has to be in this context. I'm sure he is in a better place. Godspeed, ride thee well.

Just got home from the visitation at the funeral home in Knoxville. I met Nancy, Scott’s father, several of Scott and Nancy’s friends / co-workers, several members of the East TN Riders Group, and Nancy’s son Fletcher.

You would not believe the impact your posts have made on Nancy and Scott’s family. I heard several people talking about this BMW message board that Scott participated on and how people from all over had expressed their feelings about his accident. Then, when I introduced myself to Nancy, she was so appreciative of us keeping them in our thoughts and prayers. Several times she spoke about how comforting it is to know what Scott meant to us. It was quite emotional. I remember her saying “it’s funny how you can take comfort in strangers works”.

I really enjoyed talking to Scott’s father. He told me about how excited Scott was when he won the Rockster. He drove Scott to pick it up from the dealer in Nashville since there wasn’t one in Knoxville. He is truly a wonderful person.

Didn’t hear a negative comment about motorcycles. Lots of talk about how riding was something Scott loved. A half dozen of the East TN Riders Group rode their bikes to the funeral home.

It was a good celebration of Scott’s life. He had lots of friends and a loving family. Yahoo-Boy packed a lot of living in 30 years of life.

RIP Scott Thompson

Wow, thanks for representing. That was BIG of you! You must have been a bit caught off guard. Nice report.

I think donations should be directed to Nancy instead of the college scholarship. What do you think?

Thanks again for your spirit!

I think you're 100% correct and that's where they'll go.

All of us should take pause from this tragedy and consider the impression we each leave upon this board. Clearly Scott left an impression that any of us could be proud of. In YahooBoy's memory, and in memory of Yukon Cornelius who went before him, let us all make each of our contributions here in the way we'd want to be remembered.

No disrespect to Scott or Clint, but when I go I want to be remembered as a grouchy old fart!

I've been away from the board - this is the first I've heard of this. This is very sad, indeed.

Nancy, this must be a hard time for you. Marsha (my wife), and My prayers are with you.

Everyone knows that money is not a replacement for life, but it is the least we can do to make it a little easier on Nancy and help pay some bills. For those of you just joining the conversation, Thad has stepped up to collect donations for Nancy:

Prayer's and condolences to Scott's Family.

I consider the board members an extended family with a love of motorcycling as the common thread.
It is very sad to lose a member of that extended family.

Scott, i didn't know you, but through the mutual love of bikes and the R in particular, i am sad at your passing.
I trust you are riding on up there......
