Unfortunately, this option is pretty much off the table. If you look about midway down the page here

http://r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f ... &start=140

Trout has some unhappy news: that aftermarket shaft was a prototype. The proprietor is only willing to make this item in batches, so we'd need to do a "group buy" here in order to get this done.

As with all things Internet, due diligence is needed, and anyone who is interested in this option should probably track this person down and verify what Trout said. But I think one of our options for the clutch spline issue has been removed.

Ok.....think I'm soon going into business making custom parts/pieces. Just got my Incorporation/tax numbers and my name registered as a business "JodaTech". Have a few DBA's in the works, and I'm thinking the "bike" part of the biz is going to be "Joda Customz". I'm hoping with all the suggestions you guys provided in this thread, I should have some real inventory in the near future. Any other ideas not posted in this thread are welcome. I think my first part will be a rear rack, that replaces the OEM rack(bolts on exactly the same) that will be capable of carrying camping gear etc... It will approximately extend as wide as the cases on either side. What would be a good depth for this rack?
See, I told you guys, half the time I dont know what I'm talking about.

That's great news! I hope one day the seat risers you made me become collector's items. Could you please make yourself a total legend in the field inside the next 15 years, so I can fleabay those risers and send my kid to college? ;)

Kidding aside, based on the quality of your first products, I am very much looking forward to Joda Customz. But I don't have any advice for the depth of the rack, sorry. 8" maybe?

I will hopefully have a batch of barbacks available very shortly. I know there were a few members who purchased a set from me a while ago. They will work with any bike that has 7/8" bars with 32mm spacing between the clamp holes. A website will be up in the near future. Heres some incentive for you guys.....If you give me an idea, and I decide to fab/make it, I will use you as a "test dummy" for the product and it is yours to keep, so long as after getting the product you give me feedback on performance, design, function etc... Basically review the product for me :D . You can PM the idea or just post it up here.

You mean the front-back distance? TBH I wouldn't take it further back than a biggish top box goes - otherwise you're tempting people to put a lot of weight a looong way back behind the rider - it'll affect the handling of the bike.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a kit to replace the Battery mounting structure for non-ABS bikes, so that the Battery can be moved forward into the ABS location space - there's plenty of room and it would then allow a LOT more capacity for ah-hoc small items storage under the tank.

I accept though that it's a niche market item.

I've been thinking about doing it myself, DIY style for a bit - but need an alternative form of transport before I start ripping my bike to bits! There's plenty of room so it shouldn't be "too" hard.

Johnny,

I am sure many put there are looking at replacements for Stanton engine guards. I understand that they are not making these anymore. Good luck, man.

Just posted a question about the Sub Mach footpeg lowering kit wondering what, if any, provisions it made for readjusting the position of the brake pedal peg forward and lower to
maintain the relationship to the footpeg.

One gentleman who had just purchased that kit found that there really was no acceptable provision and that the position of the lowered footpeg made application of the footbrake very awkward, so he returned the kit.

The title of the thread is "Brake Pedal Height Adjustment" by macx (me) on 9/25.

I took a look at the picture of the kit and came up with this "maybe" solution
(to quote out of my reply on that thread)

EDIT: Just took a look at that kit picture and looked closely at the existing brake lever.
"how about" if a triangular plate were made, with one of the short edges of the triangle
horizontally aligned with the top of the brake pedal arm from the existing pedal mount
hole far enough rearward to go just to the rear of the front slot in the web of the pedal arm,
and the other short edge basically vertical downward. That lower point would have a hole
for mounting the pedal (if it can be removed from the existing pedal arm?). There would
be a hole in the upper forward corner of the plate for a fastener in the hole where the pedal originally was, and another at the upper rear corner of the plate for a fastener
going thru the rear of the front elongated slot in the pedal arm, possibly enlarged slightly.
(boy it's hard to describe something like that! wish I could attach a file with a sketch)

The plate could either be fastened to the inside of the existing pedal arm or the outside.
As the footpeg lowering bracket moves the peg outward slightly, it should work if the plate
were fastened on the outside of the existing pedal arm.

Would only have to be a flat aluminum plate of the proper dimensions with 3 holes drilled in it.
Once the dimensions are worked out, should be simple to make.

With the popularity of those footpeg lowering kits, I would think that might be a fairly
popular item to "make it right". I think there's 2 riders in that thread that sure would
be interested, besides myself.

+1 on the Stanton headguards. I'd buy a black set for my Rockster.

How about a device that would replace the stupid oil sight glass with a good old fashioned dipstick? I believe the oil sight glass to be as weak a link as the FD and drive splines!

Here's a part I've been looking for but no one makes. How about a bracket that goes underneath the stock luggage rack, with a bolt hole in it, to attach, say, a modified pelican case, to the bike. I'll see what I can draw up tomorrow, but something that'll fit snug against the bottom of the rack, to make such an attachment easier?

How about a downturn pipe to fit the 1150R exhaust pipe after one removes the muffler? Nothing to be found between 1.5 in and 2inch. :(

I got mine at a muffler shop, they had several 1.75" tips.

I just ordered a pair of 1 3/4" polished stainless turn down tips from http://www.stainlesssteelmufflers.com

They are aliitle pricey $60 a pair but you will have them forever or split the cost with someone else who needs one.
