Removing the brake caliper is acceptable but taking off the silencer is odd.
Looking on the bright side though... on replacement, no messing about centralising the wheel or setting the chain.
On balance, I suppose I've got nothing to moan about!!

I thought it a piece of cake to get the back wheel off, I don't remove the silencer, wheel slips out no problem without. Can even do it wearing clean clothes cos there's no bloody chain oil all over the place! Easiest rear wheel removal on any bike I've owned including the quick release jobs on my XR.

Chris,
I can't get the tyre from between the swingarm and the silencer without removing the silencer as the tyre is too wide. I've tried moving the wheel to all angles.
Wheel removal on my KTM 525exc is a breeze... I 've had plenty of practise. Almost 5k miles in two years equates to more back tyres (and sprockets, chains, brake pads, wheel bearings...) than I care to think about!!

For all those complaining about not having self cancelling indicators:
Rocksters have them ... just that you have got the wrong bikes
R1150Rs ...
Never mind ... I do not use that feature - in London you can as well be dead by the time it decides to self-cancel! And the M-ways are busy enough not to want to use the self-cancel anyway ...
