So does the low comfort seat move you forward or back?? I'm on the smallish side (5'6") and can't afford to have my butt move back any further then it currently is with the stock low seat.

Sorry, I was exaggerating about Hollister being local. That said, I still think you are better served by having an experienced saddle maker fit something to your riding style and anatomy. You are fortunate to have several within a day's ride. Corbin does it, Mayer does it, and Saddlemen does it. Saddlemen is about the same distance from Torrance as LB BMW, and closer than Seaver's and Brown -- all good stores imho, but not saddle guys.

Could I ask how much people have been paying for the Comfort Saddle?

I've been quoted $690 CAD, and it seems awfully high for a seat.
I know most of you are in the US, but even so I'm curious to hear what the seat costs down there.

Nic, I think before you consider the low comfort seat you should sit on the standard seat. From what I've read about it they've been saying the seat height of the standard seat and the low comfort seat are the same, 800 mm.

I bought a Corbin seat from the classified section here a while ago. It was comfortable and looked great. But I could not use it because it was just too tall. With the BMW low bench seat I had a measured seat height of 30 inches, while this Corbin was 32.25 inches. It felt like I was sitting up above the bike and reaching down for the bars, I just couldn't get comfortable leaning the bike while sitting so high.
But I know that Corbin will modify a seat if you don't like it. So I planned the long ride from Santa Rosa down to Hollister this week to give them a chance to fix it. They were very nice on the phone, they said come on down, just try to get here before ten AM, we'll lower the seat, no problem. So Friday morning at 5:00AM off I went. Froze my tail off. I stopped once for breakfast, and arrived at Corbin at about 8:30.
Julio greeted me and asked me to roll the bike into the shop. Once inside he had me sit on the bike while he looked at my seating position and we talked about what I liked and didn't like about the seat. Then he pulled it off the bike, removed the cover and started working on it. I wanted to sit closer to the front so he added foam at the step, and I wanted to sit lower, so he used a big air powered carving knife to cut away some of the foam. Then he ground away at it with a power sander to re-contour it. We put it back on the bike and I made a few laps around the building and sat on the bike with Julio watching again. I wanted it lower still, so he attacked it with the foam knife and grinder again, hollowing out the bottom more. He suggested that we stop there before the foam was too thin for comfort. After a few more laps of the building I agreed.
They sent it off to the upholstery area to get the cover refitted while I waited. During this time I watched them building some other seats from scratch and modify some other seats. There was a full shop after a while, four Harleys, three BMWs and a Triumph, all getting seat work. I also got to meet Mike Corbin, he was there all day. The wait was long, but there is a restaurant right there next to the workshop, the technicians were even going in there and conferring with the bike owners while they ate.
At 12:30 in the afternoon I was done, off to Sacramento to see Mark Lawrence at Cal-Sci. That's another story. Now that the seat is modified to my specs I'm happy with it. It feels like it's perfectly molded to fit me, because it is. It's still taller then the BMW low seat, but it's not enough difference to be noticeable anymore. It measures about 31 inches tall at the lowest part. The pictures don't show the difference very well. It's still as hard as a rock, but I'm already used to that.
Butt burn still sets in for me after an hour and a half of riding or so, but it is never as bad as what the BMW seat felt like. The BMW seat is softer, but pretty soon, you are sitting on the seat pan, this Corbin is way more comfortable. I can move around on the seat or just take a break, and soon I feel ready to continue. So, if you have the Corbin seat and you don't like it, I highly recommend taking advantage of this service. If you are thinking of getting one of these seats, and you are worried that you won't like it, you can send it back to the factory, and they'll modify it by mail.

I just ordered my BMW Low Comfort Saddle from my dealer today. It will be a while, they have to come from Deutschland.

I also ordered the luggage rack as well.

I just purchased a 2007 R1200R with a corbin seat on it which is just too tall for my short legs. I have 2 questions for those with experience with this saddle.

1. Im having a hell of a time trying to take the seat off! I have a standard seat I wanted to put on the bike. When I put the key into the seat lock it will barely turn and the seat won't budge. any tips or suggestions on how to take this seat off?

2. For those that have ridden down to the factory, how much did they charge to customize an existing seat you rode in?

1. Try pushing down on the seat to relieve the pressure on the seat latch while turning the key. You should probably add a washer under the seat latch where it attaches to the seat pan to make it latch and unlatch easier.
2. They didn't charge me to rework my seat. The web site says that this applies only if the old seat cover can be re-used, and they did re-use my old seat cover. I had heard elsewhere that there is a fee if you are not the original owner of the seat. But they never asked me if I was the original owner of the seat, I did offer to pay for the seat service and they said no problem you're done, enjoy the seat.

Whats interesting is the difference in Corbin customer service between mail-order (or buy it off the truck at rallies) and ride-in.

Corbin is famous for saying "Every saddle is custom made" (as they take one out of the big pile of boxes in the truck,) "and there is no money-back, no returns, you bought it - you own it." BT - saw them say it. Have heard the mail-order operation is the same.

Yet - if you appear on their doorstep it seems like they can't do enough for you..

Someone should talk to Corbin about that..

Since I'm definitely going to replace my OEM seat, I've been poking the Gateway and A&S websites. Looks like the price on the Comfort Seat is reasonable. $372 plus free shipping from Gateway.

I don't want to rush into this, though. I replaced my K75's stock Corbin which a Comfort Seat and didn't notice a big difference b/w the two.

Double check. $372 sounds like the standard seat. The comfort seat is $554 MSRP.

The item number is the part number. I saw this over at A&S and was very excited for a brief moment. Unfortunately, this is the standard seat.

The old adage applies.

"If its too good to be true, it probably is."

Before BMW actually made a "Comfort" seat - they called the Uncomfortable seats "Comfort" seats. I even checked my source inside Motorrad to make sure since I'd had a real Comfort seat on my K75S, and liked how it looked and sat.

I'm guessing they're still using the old listing.

Hi every one.
I took the bike out during the weekend and the seat is absolutely the first on the mods list.
I feel pretty much like everyone else, 30" inseam, hurts right behind the jewels and inside the tights.
Just a question.
Does raising the handlebar and pulling it back an inch or so helps the butt at all with the new posture?
