Here another attempt to do some soundfiles of boxer exhausts. The first 2 seconds of the race can sound pretty mutch like what you can expect tone wise. It does give an indication how a race can would sound compared to the original can(open can sounds mutch darker). Still no use compared to real life sound though.

Remus Exhaust

Post by parkec »

per my conversation yesterday w/ my dealer I can buy the rest of the Remus system for another $600 or so. This would result in a complete system from headers to can, sans the catalytic converter.

per the distributor...there will be sound :D

probably going to do..

Over the years, I've done my fair share of fooling around with exhausts on BMW cars and motorcycles in search of "sound and fury." Has the aftermarket fully resolved the issues of bypassing emissions on these brainy bikes? I seem to recall issues doing that with mine, but time has passed.

Thanks.

We do not have emissions issues here in most of Fla.

My dealer thinks the bike won't have an issues. They also know that if the bike needs "sorting" after I leave the dealer -- I'll be back.

Ilmberger Hugger +1

Post by Caroanbill »

celticus wrote:The hugger is made by Ilmberger and distributed through one of the big BMW dealers out west ( I will remember which given time ). It is carbon fiber and expensive. I could have done it in plastic but I allowed my self an indulgence and went for CF.
Installation was a breeze.

Have just ordered this hugger from http://www.motorradgarage.com.au, based in Perth, Western Australia.

Price is $399AUD - about right against the Euro price. Nice discount on postage. Expensive, but few other options landed on the dry planet - and this one was in stock. Plastic would've been fine, but (oh, shucks) carbon fibre was what was available :D

Michael Wilson's service is (as always) excellent. Heartily recommended for Oz riders.

Apparently, I even have a bike in production in Berlin (at last) ... it'll be here in September for spring riding (southern hemisphere, folks ... I was on snow all last week)

I fitted a plastic hugger and it was catching the shield thingy around the shocker making a loud graunching ? noise over large road bumps. Trimming the shield sorted it.
I just love the bike!!

did it.. I now have a complete Remus Powershot Exhaust System. :P

I can now actually hear the exhaust system, I bet the neighbors can too :D

Not as violent as my Falcos, nor as powerful as my x Duc, but distinct none the less. ohh and not as loud as either!
