I never get over that tower. It's eerie. It's almost too tall for my brain to believe. It's that sensation you get when you see a sci-fi movie with really good special effects - as real as they make things look my brain says "nope, that's fake."

My brain says "nope, that tower is cgi."

The bike looks really great though, my brain says "damn that's a nice bike."

Ran up to NH & Maine last weekend... only took one shot of my bike:

What I did take a few shots of were some amazing BMW's ... this one in particular just needs to be seen. One of many in a private collection in Maine that is absolutely amazing. I really wish I had my good camera with me #-o

No, I had system cases as well, but those were left at my sister's house in Fort Collins for the day. But, to be honest, I can barely fill them. After a couple of years of minimalist touring on a 650 single, I'm pretty much happy with a tank/tail bag combo.

Dave Percival's place is up in Andover Maine ... you may have seen his collection featured in several pictorials over the years. Great stories, great host... and some great bikes. I never did ask about stopping by as my friend had prearranged it (his father was a friend of Dave's).

heres some old twins:

and some newer old twins:

Again - wish I had a decent camera... #-o

So..... went to the dealer last weekend...... came home with a bike. *Not* planned. The free luggage deal from BMW was too good to ignore.

Oh, who am I kidding. I loved the bike. Put the first mile on it. Within five I was figuring out how to pull it off. Bags come in next week, sport screen, engine guards, et al.

Looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone.

Welcome to the party Jim!

Another victim coming home with a bike from a dealer... many of us can relate!

As I've said before, the black with stripe and spoked wheels is one good looking version of the 12R, congrats on the new bike and keep the photos coming!

Cheers

Having not been able to ride after a bad crash this spring with subsequent surgery screws and plates, I couldn't stand it anymore... going against doctors orders I took the R for a quick spin to Baja 2up for the 4th then solo up the coast to the Canadian border and back. Wouldn't be the first time I carried the Exogen ultrasound bone healer I need to use on the R...
Of course my trusty R performed perfectly on the ride, our romance being fully rekindled!
