It's another beautiful SoCal day here...about 6:48 am...not a cloud in the beautiful blue sky. Perfect day for bike pics at the beach. I'm headed to the beach to take some Hi-Res pics for a magazine feature. A UK mag called 100% biker contacted me for a feature. This bike should fit right in with their subject matter. They cover chops, customs, streetfighters, trikes and classics. Their cover bike this month is a custom Ducati cruiser!

Another terrible SoCal winter day, NOT!! The temp is in the high 60's and the sky is blue...perfect riding weather. Just put about 150 miles on the new Black Bomber and I happy to say that everything is working well. Rode from home over the mountains, I was really tempted when I passed those Palomar Summit signs but, that's for another day. Stopped at Santa Isabel for brunch and turned around there because the word was about three bike riders were down just up the road. I just didn't need to see that this morning. Rode back over the mountains and went all the way to the beach.
Took her up to about 80mph today and cruised most of the day at 50 to 70. Nothing fell off, protested or broke,,,,whew, it seems to be holding together . The bike tracks straight and true and nothing seems out of place except I have to get used to the last generation BMW clunky 5 speed tranny again. I finally dialed in the spring rate and rebound/damping adjustments for the rear shock and the shiny black spring doesn't look gay at all (although there's absolutely nothing wrong with purple).
It seems to be time to check this one off as complete and start looking for that next project that nobody has done yet.

Randy I never said that the purple spring was gay......just borderline fruitcake.......altought theres nothing wrong with that either.....
By the way it was a great day......after the ride Cami and I came home and took a nap.....it doesnt get any better that!

That nap thing really worked for me too!!
Since I have been without a bike since Thanksgiving, I have to get my riding muscles back into shape.
That was fun...and I know I'm going to catch hell for this but, I'm one of those rare people that likes fruitcakes

You said it not me.....and I wont forget!!
As far as riding shape I am almost there......150 miles on a rigid chassis is like 300 miles on a softail chassis....I think.

Made a few changes since the last post...Remade the pipes, tried different carbs and ended up re-jetting the Bings. Finally got everything set up right. Throttle response is right on and the sound is great! Here is a pic of the powdercoated shock spring with the new spring spacer:

Here are the pipes...had to remove the crossover pipe and I welded on some Sportster slip-ons I had from another project. Had them ceramic coated flat black:

Wow, Nice job Rchop! I take it you've been building bikes for awhile.

I have been customizing and restoring bikes for quite a few years. This is the first one I have built from the ground up. Hopefully many more to come.
The first mag it will be in is called "100% Biker". It's a UK mag and my bike fits right in with their type of customs. Should be in the next issue. You can see the mag at:
