Hi all. I have 1600 miles on my R1200R. I went on a trip that was 263 miles last week. The fuel light came on at 259 miles. I run the computer on the temp function, and when the light came , it switched over to miles left which said 45. I thought that was a nice touch. I got gas at 263 miles and put in 5.01 gal. Computer said 50 MPG for the day. I had set it to 0 before the ride. The computer seems to be even more acurate than I thought it would be. Expectations exceeded again by this bike! Sweet.

With just 15 miles left I would have been sweating it and would have blamed myself for running out. I don't trust it's accuacy nearly that much. As soon as my low light comes on I am preoccupied with it.

I'm not looking to stretch my tank to its limits. IMO, anything over 200 miles between stops is plenty. I start thinking about pulling over when it gets in the 50's. In that regard, I guess the gauge is as accurate as I need it to be, but my experience with the "miles left" reading on other vehicles suggests that they're not to be trusted to perform with any consistency.
