Never touched down in 20k mi. Just did the valve adjust/inspect, no problem getting covers off. also plenty of clearance for getting at the alternator belt.

Thanks for the info bransan, I have been looking for a pair of crash bars, since the ones I wanted are no longer available, I think those will do the job, I just wanted to make sure I won't be grinding the bars. I have been down that road with another bike in the past.
