i love my RF1000,

especially the easy way my sunglasses fit inside the helmet. No need for multiple face shields.

Its always a choice, try to thread the D ring with the gloves on, I can do when the planets are aligned, or try to fish the key out of my pocket with the gloves on, much lower probablility.

Back to noise, I replaced my Arai Quantum with an Arai Corsair, both noisy. I'm still waiting for an active noise cancelling helmet - I'd pay a bunch for one. Sometimes I fantasize about taking apart some good noise cancelling headphones & building them into a helmet. Can't be that hard.

DJ, a bit late on the reply, but I dont like the BMW helmuts.
I should rephrase that, I like the principle, but they dont feel comfortable
on me. Unfortunately.

I have had a good run with my Shoe helmuts, so will stick with them.

Saves on shampoo though.

I love my RF1000. The quality is a thousand times better than my Arai, which is in a state of slow motion explosion. I only wish the Shoei had a removable interior. It would make cleaning a lot easier.

The nicest thing about the Shoei is that you can keep the visor cracked one notch in the rain and no rain will enter. Keeps the visor from fogging.

Thanks for the helmet info, Lee... I've been very frustrated with the noise levels of my Quantum/f... I guess I'm not surprised given the design of the shield attach mechanism... I had a Shoei (forget the model) a long long time ago, and I thought those were (in general) quieter than the Arai... Definitely would like to try the RF1000 as a next helmet...

NoRRmad, I'm guessing ear protection laws vary by state and country... here in CA, it is illegal to block hearing (by headphones or earplugs or whatever) unless there is risk of hearing damage. That's the technicality I (and most other riders) use as a reason to wear ear plugs.
