Congratulations on the new bike! Didn't think that other one would be around long at the price. The black and white one really stands out, you'll love it. Think maybe the standard seat off the r will fit but if you want to change it. The dealer will tell you anyway. These things seem to be flying out of the bike shops since the sun came out!

You're not gonna believe this...

Change of plan. My local bmw dealer called me about 20 mins after I got off the phone to the other guy.
Turns out that the original roadster i tested had been in there for a few weeks with not much interest, and he offered it to me for £5500, instead of the 6500 that it was up for yesterday!
Ok, so it's £300 more than the rockster, but it's on a 55 plate, only 6 months old with about 2000 miles on, so practically new!
I couldn't turn that one down, so went and had another look, and I realised in the nick of time that I still preferred the seating position of the roadster. Managed to cancel my deposit and i'm now waiting for a different bike!

I feel a bit bad for the other guy, he was a nice bloke, and it was a nice bike, but generally it means i don't need to change the seat, bar height etc.
Still coming on friday, and i'm still just as excited, if not more.

I don't think the ED80 had a centre stand now that you mention it.
Looks like i posted in the right section after all!

WOW! That IS a bargain. Have to say, personal choice is the roadster. Just something about it looks right. I can't stop going in the garage for another look, just to make sure I really have one...and to get a beer :) ... post photos when you get it. Colour?

It says dark ferro on their site. really nice dark blue/black/silvery colour. they say it's a special colour package, whatever that means.
funny actually coz in their picture it looks a bit boring! no wonder they still have it. in the flesh it's a beautiful colour.
It comes with the heated grips, white indicator lenses, speedster windshield and pannier fastenings. It's not a servo model, but i'm not bothered really, never had it before so don't really know the difference!
when i've got some cash again i'll be after some panniers for it, but for now i've got a perfectly good kit of oxford lifetime luggage to tour with.

Damn, is it still tuesday?! this is gonna be the longest week of my life!

Wait a minute, does it look like this one: http://bmw.mc.no/bmw/foto/p0010429.jpg

Cause I just ordered an R 1150 R with the Dark Ferro M/ Ferro Metallic paint, the white indicator lights, with luggage brackets, heated grips (standard in Canada), Over drive transmission, and blackend out engine and transmission. I can't wait to see what it actually looks like, I've only seen the picture and fell in love with 'er.

Yep, that's exactly the same one. I reckon the pictures don't seem to do it justice, the way the light hits it is what makes it i think.
if your taste is anything like mine, you're going to love it!
I was thinking about posting a pic from the dealers site, but none are that good.

mind you, i'm a bit fussy about photography when it comes to this stuff.
I'll get some good pics when i get the bike (well, after riding it all day long, that is!).

You jammy so and so, that was the R from Vines wasn't it ? I've been waiting for the insurance money to come through after having my Rockster written off and I was off down there for that one.

Change your mind this instant, you know you'd rather have a Rockster !!

I'm afraid it is the one in Vines. Sorry bout that! Plenty more fish in the sea etc. There's a blinding couple of rocksters available in south london motorcycles, Caterham, if you're interested!

Ok, i'm gonna try and attach a pic, might not work, but here goes...

I won't leave it up for too long coz it'll eat my monthly bandwidth, but it'll give you a good idea.
Dwayne, post or PM me your email address and i'll send you the other 4 i have of it.
I've got some new sidi boots for the occasion today too. We've got a puppy who's just eaten my old alpinestars, and he's NOT getting these ones!

Did you go and check out the Ferro R at Mayfair BMW?. It might save me a trip if you have.

Oh well, thats the second R I've missed out on (there was another Ferro up north a few weeks ago)

There's a red one at Sawbridgeworth I might have a look at - if the insurance company ever gets around to paying out.

I saw that red one, they had a couple in at silly prices, (cheeep!) but they went so fast. These are really in demand this year.

MY MOTORCYCLE IS STILL A CRATE!!!! It's still IN a crate! And I was worried it might have some usage on it...Huh!

The salesmen is going to snap some pictures of it for me, that ought to be rather cool...Bike in a Box. It's like I just bought something from IKEA again....hope it comes with an allen key!! LOL

Dwayne, YGM.
when are you expecting to collect your bike? if you manage to get some pics in the crate, I'd love to see them. I once had to build a bike from a crate, when my mate bought a hongdu off ebay! funny little bikes, completely underpowered and really poorly made, but strangely fun to ride (although the tyres are more like plastic than rubber)!

What's YGM? I'm behind in the lingo with my Peeps...lol

I THINK it will be ready for Saturday, but probably early to mid next week.

Thanks for the pics by the way. Your bike is now my wallpaper on the Windows machine at work, and the Mac at home.

YGM = you've got mail. Don't worry, it's the first time i've ever typed it too!

Glad to see i'm not the only one with it as my wallpaper on all computers!
I bet you can't wait for it either. Only 7 full days for me to go. 8)

No probs, managed to get a bargain off ebay, 05 plate green Rockster with 1700 miles on the clock. £4999. that 's over a grand less than my insurance settlement. Take a look
