Best times I ever had were on my old Suz X6...hemet and sunglasses, always short on money and studying to get through school....working swing shift and riding with my buddies, a Triumph 650 and a Yammy.....warm summer nights riding along the beach. Running with the bike and then jump starting it when the battery got old. Now I have some $ and ride my R and I think it's a hundred times better than the old bikes.......the Harley guys back then were not the guys I see riding them today. The ones I remember you didn't make eye contact with their girlfriend on the back or you might not
Still I think back then I just "rode" the damn thing and enjoyed it, all the strange noises and quirks, poo it was just a bike.
Sometimes I think we take ourselves and our "machines" too seriously. IMHO.
Enjoy the ride, whether it's on a Harley, Beemer, Honda, whatever.....it's all between the bike and you, not the label.
Bud (moving to AZ in two weeks).
