As far as I can tell, BMW is a German acronym for "We do things our own way". This is the company that thought puke green Rocksters were a good idea and designed the hideous headlights on the R1200ST.

Looks like they are sharing paint colors with the Tri-Color RT scheme:

FWIW, I took one of the cases out to my Platinum Bronze Metallic X5 for comparison, and the color is almost identical. It is actually a nice color. The RR paint looks a bit more metallic.

It looks the same as the 12 except it looks like the shock is inverted. Maybe they went adjustable. Would be nice.

Love my R1200R !

FYI. The shock is not changed for 2013. I'm guessing your bike does not have ESA, mine doesn't either. The shock is inverted on ESA equipped bikes. Personally, I like the look of the non-ESA equipped bikes shock as the spring isn't so prominent.

I know this because a guy I work with has the exact same Classic as me except his has ESA and mine doesn't. His shock looks like the pic and mine doesn't. It's an easy and reliable way to tell if a Classic has ESA or not. Check the pic section you'll see some bikes have it and some don't.

ESA bikes have the white springs.

Apparently it's still a Showa of the same spec. as the non ESA, but it has electronic control.

Looks like a WWI battleship camo scheme.

Thank you Barry.

Adjustable would be nice, I would rather do it my self than have only 3 settings.

I completely agree about the color changes. The New Colors: Desk Accessory Tan and InvisaBlue are about the most boring colors out there; not to mention they are less safe because they are harder to see and blend in with sand or sky.

BMW bikes have great technology, but they should absolutely fire their design and aesthetics people. There's a reason that T-Mobile chose Ducati for their motorcycle-riding leather phone Babe commercial and not a BMW. . .

Maybe the BMW boys decided the US market would love beige after seeing our homes in our newer suburbs :?
