Two items.

First off, yes, these bikes are lean from the factory for emissions reasons and no amount of throttle control will make up for that.

I bought a Booster Plug and it works, no snake oil, no joke, 100% difference and it is without dispute. Do a search for yourself and find out, no complaints, all successful, everyone that gets one raves about it.

It adds a 6% enrichment and is perfect for the closed loop system the 12R uses. No difference to overall performance like a remap would do. Read about it at the link provided.

I had my heart in my throat when I installed it, but it worked out and it is really a 'plug and play' solution that is easy to install.

Second item.

WORKS makes an ESA replacement.

They also make dual rate shocks, which IMO is a step up from progressive spring rate.
I had a set of dual rate shocks from them on my last bike - they work as advertised.

I'm going to compare Willber's and Ohlin's before I commit, but with WORKS here in California and my past success with their products, the other two have prove to be better for me to get them instead.

Maybe someday I'll be able to meet up with someone who has it for me to try and see what all the praise is about.
My Husaberg came with a very lean map for emissions and needed to have an "illegal" competition map installed to get it to run well and pull hard.
I never noticed that feeling on my R though, my bike runs great.
At least the booster plug is cheap and reversible.

It's curious, but some 12R's need it more than others. I got one of the more affected ones and it was untenable. When I brought it in for first service, I asked the mechanic to check it out. He said it was normal. Yeah... right....

Friend has a Ducati 695 Monster, his needed a 'plug' and it worked for him, so I got one after reading about them here and a few other places.

Hmmm... Booster Plug huh? Part of the reason I was curious about them being lean is how much the chrome headers seem to discolor. Is it true that a lot of blueing can be caused from a too lean and therefore a too hot condition?

I know the pipes are single walled but from here it seems like a lot of blueing...and far down the pipes. I'm talking about the chrome ones here, not stainless. I have aftermarket single walled chrome pipes on my bike now and they have turned amber just out of the heads, but no blueing to speak of.

Any thoughts on this??
