Read some where, awhile ago, that dot 5 fluid could be used as a preservative for rubber. Can't find where I saw this. Any comments?

I think the main culprit here is uv rays, I purchased a product from napa, Aerospace protectant 303, It has a spf 40 rating. Maybe Coppertone would be the thing to use....
