I just completed the 'Lillooet Loop' today. For those not in the know, the loop is one of the well known rides in southern B.C., and is popular among bikers in the metro Vancouver area.

I used my vest today, during a good portion of the 670km ride and it worked perfectly. My Venture vest is thin enough to go under my heavier, armoured, Hein Gericke Spader jacket, and since I never wear more than a tee shirt under my jacket, the vest sits close to my body. It has four heat settings and I find that the second lowest setting is more than sufficient to keep me warm. The highest setting is toasty indeed!

And what a beautiful loop it is! A perfect time for a heated jacket with many elevation climbs and drops. Still snow at roadside through the mountains?

Yes, there was still snow on the sides of the road. I got caught in a couple of snow flurries at Duffey Lake itself! But the ride was fantastic and the weather, other than that, was perfect.

Mike- sounds like you had a great ride. Which was the route? 'Lillooet Loop' is new for me- have only lived in vancouver for 1 1/2 yrs.
Stef.

Edit: just seen you email- thanks!

...you're in for a treat... and make sure to do it in both directions (not on the same day unless you're VERY hardcore), the views are equally wonderful both ways.

I bought a Keis heated vest for this winter and I've been very pleased with it. It cost £100 UK with a remote switch /temp setting. The temp setting is a sort of timer, the hotter you want it then the shorter the power off period. It's a rather simple design with two heated panels on the front and two on the back. I plug it into the acc socket. It is good value and very effective.

Actually, I rode the 'Loop' in in the Vancouver-Hope-Lytton-Lillooet-Pemberton-Whistler and back to Vancouver direction, (anti-clockwise), which was new for me, but I now prefer it. The RR ate up the roads!
