Bought a seat-heating pad from RiderWarehouse, then took it to an upholstery shop, with my seat with the intention of having him put it under the cover. We talked about it - and he was leary of pulling out that many staples and restapling it and getting it all together smooth, so I asked about making a cover with tabs on it for the pad. He was really interested in the idea, located some vinyl the same pattern as Sargent used (faux-carbon-fibre pattern) and whipped up a flat bag sort of cover for the pad, open at one end, tabs coming off the sides. Put the pad in and sewed it shut.

He refused any payment for the job. Cool dude! Will be having him do some car work I need on my M3.. It works great. Use the same little elastic cords I use for my FreedomAir cushion, and a friend gave me an unused Heattroller that I wired an auxiliary plug on (the pad draws little enough current that it doesn't turn off the aux-socket.) Works great in low temps.. between the heated grips, a Gerbing jacket liner and the hot-buns-pad, I'm really quite comfortable down into the low 30's. Below that - haven't tried yet.

I bought a Rick Mayer seat and have since ridden 3000 miles on it. I'm VERY VERY happy with it and highly recommend it. In the past, I've used Corbins and a Russell.

I got the Sargent and like it......the wife absolutely hates it though, shoves her forward ruins the riding position.

I'm another Bill Mayer fan. I rode in for a custom fit and now I can ride all day in comfort.
