1--Yes.
2--"Inspecting it" requires the bike to be taken apart like THIS #-o

That's not something they'll do to a functioning bike . . . . . no matter how much you pester them . . . . unless you pay them.

I say ride it hard and really fast. Aren't you already doing that?
