Thanks very much for posting these pics. Does this mean your going to buy another bike? Kudo's also to the dealership.

Dan-A Thanks for the pictures. The fairing looks good. I don't know about the "Way more than $500 painted" part but the rest I like.

No problem. If I remember, next time I am there I will see how much they were adding for the fairing.

The dealership is A & S BMW in Roseville CA,
http://www.ascycles.com/. I think I am maxed out on bikes right now, but I hear some bad news. A & S is getting Ducati. Seeing as how I was medically diagnosed with a Ducati deficiency two years ago, this could be a problem.

Thanx's for the photos: Just for fun, I called A&S and they said, yes it was the Wudo faring and they have an unpainted one in stock ready to ship. $1000 bucks with free shipping.. A group buy direct is look'n better all the time.

$1000!!!!???? No way.
I thought about using an OEM "Old S" fairing but due to the turn signals being mounted above the headlight on our bikes and being mounted below on the older bikes this would not work. However after looking at the pictures here I see that there are relocating brackets for the turn signals away way. Makes me wonder.
$1000, I spit on $1000 bucks! Ha!

Well... this is always an option:
$70.00 - that's $930 less..

Or this one:
It's $115
http://www.jcwhitney.com/MAIER-SPORT-FA ... _10111.jcw
I actually do have some experience with the 1st one - had one on my R65. Fooled a lot of people who thought it was an R90S fairing. Had to make my own brackets (wasn't difficult - used some of the kit they sent with it.) At the time - about 15 years ago - it was $39.99..
Someone over on adv-rider was ordering one for his R12R after I mentioned it there. Have to go dig out that thread and see if he ever installed it, and how it looked..

Don,
No need to go over there, that person was me.
It must have been a special order directly from Thailand, as I took quite a while to get the shield. I just got it in the mail last week and played around with it a bit.
I think it would fit with a minor amount of bracket fabrication and look pretty cool (especially after seeing the t/s relocation brackets on the Wuedo), but don't think I'll do it as I'd have to move my Zumo. I installed it to the right of the Instrument pod in the "open space", so it's on the same plane as the gauges (no refocsing) and have gotten so used to it that I can't imagine it anywhere else.
So if someone here wants to either give me what I have into it or trade their Sport shield for this one I'll be all ears. Otherwise, I'll throw it on ebay in the next week or so.

Oliver,
I pm'd you over there - you can obviously ignore it..
I'd love to try it - but same problem.. I use the touring shield mount for my Nav-III, and really like that position. Can't see where I could put it with this shield (and actually - with the Wudo) that would be as good.
Problems problems - farkles are so difficult sometimes..

Gents, Not so good news.. I received a reply from Christopher today in response to my question about a Group Buy.
Here's what I got back:
Chris,
once again thank you very much for your inquiry and your interest in our products.
For an order of 8 Fairings for the R 1200 R we could offer you a discount of 5%. In this case we would prefer a transfer to our account in advance. We would give you the account then in advance after getting the order and the delivery address. Giving a discount we would only send the goods to one address.
With best regards

5% = $26.40.. not much of a savings, plus there's the issue of his shipping eight fairings to a single location, and follow-on shipping to get one to you at your location. Bottom line - if y'all are serious about purchasing a Wedo fairing, you'll be better off ordering it directly from Christopher at Wudo.

In case there's some interest: I paid $70 for the fairing and it would probably cost ~$10 to send it CONUS.
It is painted gloss black (only color it comes in) with a lightly smoked tinted windshield.
It comes with two V shaped brackets to attach it via the headlight bolts.
Again, I'm not going to use it as it won't work for my setup with the Zumo, but it does clear the stock IP.
Let me know if there's interest in a purchase /swap for your sport windshield.

I'll give you some pictures. I have a have much to live uo to on that point. Don, or whoever might know this, it looks like I will have to move my front turn signals to install this "S" type fairing. Do you think that any light pod with the same 8 ohm (I'm guessing) value would be seen as the correct one by the can-bus computer?

Mark, I kinda liked how the Weudo did the turnsignal brackets..
But - yeah, if the resistance is the same, and the voltage is the same - then the current draw will be the same and the CAN-BUS should be happy. There are LED replacements for the bulb ones that don't throw a bulb-out error.. so that might also be an option along with a resistor (prolly 5w 8ohm resistor would work fine..)
