That's the standard German expression for "I'm having a blast, can't you tell?"
She's been off the boat for a while now, but it's all the mannerisms are still in there.

I had a blast, and with great company. These events are like a rally-lite. Not as crowded, but just as much fun. The hotel/bar/restaurant combo was perfect!
Looking forward to next year.

In reflection of L'Beakster Bash V, may I say that I appreciate the compliments of those in attendance and that I sincerely feel that everyone had a great time despite the weather, which can always be the intangible at any event. I would be remiss if I did not remind you all that it was Scottybooj who volunteered last year in Marlinton to be the "Bash Master" for this event. My services were offered by CycleRob due to my experience with the Endless Mountain Region of Pennsylvania. This being my second Bash in as many years, it was a pleasure to work on this project with Scott and my friend Marty2. Thanks to all who donated door prizes. Good roads, good friends, and good food/drink.
Ride safe.

We did try to generate a buzz for another Northern Bash back-to-back. Have to see how that develops. For now candidate locations for future Bash's are:
North Georgia/North Alabama/Extreme Western NC/Extreme Eastern TN - for the loyal Deep South members.
Catskills Region, NY/Poconos Region/PA - ctRider was showing me some maps with lots of green and skinny little red roads.
Return to Marlinton. Return to Marietta. Old Favorites worth a redo.
Other areas in discussion: Long Island (the Long part, I guess); Finger Lakes Region, NY; Helena, MT/Glacier National Park.
AND the October 10-12 Columbus Day Weekend Ozark, Arkansas Bash deserves to become a true Annual event. (For now it remains a one-off but 2nd Annual has a good shot.)

Sorry I'm running a little late here.
First -- I'd like to thank Scotty and Jim for all the time and effort that they put in. It turned out really great in spite of the weather.
Second -- I'd like to give my son Mike some credit for pulling into a BMW dealer on a Honda and was able to get 4 tee shirts to be used as give aways at the Bash. Also here is a link to the pics he took (got some good action shots);
http://rides.webshots.com/album/5635082 ... host=rides
He said in order to cut and paste any of the pics you must full size them first.
It was nice to be able to put some more faces to names and I'm looking forward to next years bash. Where ever it might be.
This is the patio of the Manor Hotel in Slate Run, where we had lunch after leaving the Grand Canyon. Same river just a little further south.
Daryl, Dave and John.

This is a great opportunity to thank the thoughtful and generous attendee from whom I won the microfiber towels. I don't know who this was, but they are really useful.
Those were courtesy of Christopher Moltisanti and Paulie Walnuts. They made us an offer we couldn't refuse.

I won the one-off Beakster Bash ballcap donated by STDocLizard1 and actually made by his feisty 919 Honda riding long time SO and customer/friend of mine, Patty. Over the years they both have ridden their bikes NJ to CA and back, more than once. Safely 700+ miles away

I can hear Patty now "FEISTY !!!?".
Also, while looking at the Bungee Budies bag that Marty2 had won, he immediately asked me if I wanted them

Since I was looking for a set locally with no success . . . . I said YES! Marty said he already had some and didn't need them. Add that to a donated surplus Shoei helmet faceshield he shipped me years ago. Thanks again Marty. The Bungee Buddies were installed today.

Vann,
Your caption of us at the worlds end park sign forgot to mention that as you were taking the picture a F-350 dually was coming around the corner behind you. No Pictures from lunch on Friday?

Rob - the bungee buddies were my donation. I bought them at Capitol BMW in Raleigh on a visit and decided they did not work as well with my Rok straps and decided to bring them to the Bash as door prize. Glad you can get some use out of them.
And Jeff - the only worthwhile pictures at lunch Friday would have probably gotten me slapped!

And yes, I remember telling you no one would come around the curve while I was taking the picture!

Finally getting around to uploading my pics. Been very busy since the Bash. Despite the rain it was a great Bash. I mostly enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Challey, NoRRmad, jfslater, johnnyjs1, Daryl_stamp, TonyT607, SecondWind and surely some others I am forgetting, so let me apologize for that.
I want to apologize to those following me on the group ride Saturday. I was writing down the turns because my tank bag doesn't have a very big map window. That got me elected to be ride leader. Even though I had a GPS I did not have detailed maps of the area loaded so I was not able to route. Sooo...I ended up missing 414 outside of Canton, PA as it turned right when I wasn't paying attention. I went on happily thinking I was still on 414 for a while. It turned out to be a fantastic ride along the river with great surface and high speed sweepers so I didn't stop until we hit 15 only a few miles south of Liberty where we supposed to be. Even though we got soaked on the way back (Vann, that was your fault because you were leading at that time

) it was quite a lot of fun to ride with some new folks.
Looking forward to next year, wherever it may be. Don't forget about Hungry Mother guys, wet Bashes mean dryer Hungry Mother Rain Rides!!!
