I was on a trip today and one of the fuel disconnects broke and sprayed fuel everywhere. I walked to a parts store and put a traditional fuel filter bulb on it to get back
to civilization. Should I replace these with factory new or leave the temporary on with no ill effects. It rode beautifully on the way home on the $1.50 filter as a patch.

Re: Fuel Disconnects Brittle
Either way. It you don't mind futzing with it when you take the tank off, the bulb should work just fine. I just (last weekend) replaced the plastic OEM QDs with brass (or maybe Stainless steel) models purchased from Omega. Same manufacturer as the plastics, but they don't break. Parts numbers should show up if you search this site. Total cost around $90 (with the 5/16" Fuel Injector hose clamps from Pepboys).aeschroeder wrote:I was on a trip today and one of the fuel disconnects broke and sprayed fuel everywhere. Thanks a million. I will try them as I am a factory fanatic and want the right part.
