Slider installed in a jiffy! A bit of a stupid moment when looking at the ring but figured it would expand when screwed in and voila, it did.

Installed in a couple of minutes and looks good. I like the idea of putting a unique sticker in place of the BMW sign.

Exactly! :smt023

"The original one" is on my bike from June 18th, 2008 and I have to report no problem at all. :D

I wonder if we can get a spare roundel or two. If you have to take it off the decal will be toast.

Okay, here's a clueless question before I start meddling and messing things up: Does the existing cover (plug?) unscrew or pry off?

Just slide a thin screw driver head behind the plastic and pry it off at the edge. It will pop off easily. If you're afraid you might scratch the metal, tape your screw driver head.

Reasonably quick shipment-time, considering you live on the moon...

Is anyone still waiting for their slider? Many have announced that they have gotten theirs and no one is griping but I'll feel better when it is done. Although there is not alot I can do about it. :|

Mark,

Mine's AWOL, but I live in Canada so maybe it's stuck at the border. Or maybe my postie rides a 12R. I'll give it another week.

But where can one pick up a unique sticker?
Also did Snag and MJB get theirs yet?

Mark,

Still waiting on mine. Nevada at times seems to have it's own postal service. Or lack of service.

Mark,

Mine arrived today, many thanks. I guess my postie rides a Harley after all.

It's 10:35 PM, a couple of guys just teed off on the 11th hole across the street; ya gotta love these northern summer nights! Off topic, but I know you wont be thinking of me when you're still riding in November and we've got a foot of snow on the ground.

Doug, I DID love those northern summer nights when I lived in Alaska. I will try to think of you whilst riding this November and December and January.........blah blah . :D
Carol , I'm sorry. I went back and checked and as best I can tell I sent you a slider. The numbers are right and I have you on my address list. Hang in there. The guys on the west coast got theirs before the guys one state over from me got theirs.
