Are my feet hot or is just me?

Post by yellowfinch11 »

So, I removed my can (exhaust that is) for the first time yesterday. Man, that thing weights a ton!

After riding for an hour or so, my feet felt warmer than a typical ride with the can on. Am I imagining things or can that be possible?

Anyone else have the same thing?

By the way, the rear rim/tire look excellent now that you can see it! \:D/

My feet get hot on this bike regardless of whether the can is off or on. Usually a few minutes after I go from Interstate (Warp) speed to local road (Impulse) speed ;)

BTW, the heads make great footrests on the highway....as long as you dont touch your boot to the exhaust headers:

Reminds me of when I threw my jacket over the back of my motorcycle after I arrived at work. The sleeve was touching the exhaust can and melted it. Heh oh well. Just like learning the stove is hot all over again, but 20 years later. :P

The cat puts out a lot of heat with or without the can.

Yep. Remove the catalytic converter and replace it with a Remus Y-pipe and you're good to go. Otherwise that cat puts out some serious heat.
