Pics and info aboutf old BMWs ??
Does anyone know where to find good information and pictures of BMWs throughout history? I just saw a 1950's beemer being ridden around town and it has really sparked my interest in learning more about the history of these bikes. Is there a goos website out there?

After buying my RR my parents gave me a book as a gift. Its all about the history of BMW and their motorcycles. It tells the story from the very beginning and goes into details of the motor designs and so forth.
I love the book and highly recommend it for anyone with an interest in motorcycles!
title: BMW MOTORCYCLES
authors: DARWIN HOLSTROM AND BRIAN J. NELSON
publisher: MOTORBOOKS INTERNATIONAL
Go get it...NOW!!!!

try boxerworks.com for information, and for photos and info google duane ausherman he owned a bmw shop in CA for a long time and was one of the best dealerships in the nation. his site has pics references and the like. feel free to contact me direct for any other questions I have owned several old beemers. [email protected] enjoy the old bikes are a real trip and blast to ride/work on!!! also look into the vintage bmw motorcycle owners club you can find them online worth the $20 a year. check out BMW's mobile tradition online for info on years and models, i cant think of the sites now but there are a few that will just give you pics and info on the years and models, enjoy the guys who maitain and admire these bikes are really down to earth, and willing to share any knowledge they have, something I have personally noticed that is not the same as the owners of new BMW's. too bad.

Cafe racer, eh? Try this one:

Or this:
http://www.postaldave.com/cafebeemer/cafebeemer.html
And follow the link there to "Ace Cafe" for tons (up?) of cafe racer examples. Some BMWs sprinkled throughout.
Post some pics as you progress.
Good luck.
